The materials used in the production of Chinese colorful lights (Chinese Lanterns) are mainly divided into three categories: structural support materials, decorative and surface materials, and electrical and lighting materials. Below is a detailed introduction to each category:
I. Structural Support Materials (Main Framework Materials)
Base Materials
Steel Materials: Commonly used materials include rectangular tubes and angle steel (e.g., 30-angle steel). The specifications of the steel are chosen based on the size of the lantern group. Medium-sized bases typically use steel with dimensions of 10 meters × 3 meters × 0.8 meters.
Framework Materials
Wire and Steel Bars: No. 8 wire or steel bars with a diameter of 6 mm are used for basic shaping. For complex structures, 30-angle steel or round steel is used for reinforcement.
II. Decorative and Surface Materials (Surface Coloring Materials)
Pasting Materials
Silk and Fabric: These materials are primarily used for pasting. Special glue is used for color-separated pasting, and the seams are adorned with gold edges.
Coloring Materials
Acrylic Paint: The commonly used coloring material is acrylic paint, with the outdoor version of Shanghai Mali acrylic paint being the most effective.
III. Electrical and Lighting Materials (Electrical Light Source Materials)
Cables and Light Sources
Aluminum or Copper Core Wires: Internal cables typically use aluminum or copper core wires with specifications of 1.5-6 square millimeters. These are paired with 5-watt LED light chains, neon tubes, etc., which feature both waterproofing and low power consumption.
Distribution Box
Distribution Box: The distribution box is equipped with circuit breakers, time switches, and leakage protection switches. The appropriate specifications and models are selected based on the power consumption of the lantern group.
These materials collectively contribute to the rich diversity and unique artistic charm of Chinese colorful lights (Chinese Lanterns).
